If you knew me in high school, you would have known that I was a huge car nut and motorsports fan. I never really was into such things for the prestige, but for the engineering and talent. I could watch a race car go around a track for days on end and marvel at the technology that makes it happen. Likewise, the people that manhandle the beasts of racing cars that are out there today are simply unbelievably talented.
In college, I sort of waned from my motorsport passion. One reason is that we didn’t get SPEED TV, and another was that I was just consumed with other things. So, while I still had a deep appreciation with cars and racing, I just didn’t keep up with it like before.
Until a few weeks ago. I watched the opening round of Formula 1 in Australia, pretty much every minute of TV coverage of the 12 Hours of Sebring, SPEED World Challenge races, Pro Mazda races, etc. The new Car of Tomorrow even made me watch NASCAR races.
And there scary thing is that I AM LOVING IT. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed watching these engineering marvels pushed to the limit. Hence, I have done very little blogging and reading.
So, I need to find a happy medium. I don’t want to swing the pendulum too hard.
But man, it sure felt nice to swing it over there for a little while.
