I haven’t done any fact-checking, so I’m not sure what the “other side” of the story is, but I’m not sure I care. I would vote for her. Doesn’t look like her city is in need of a bailout.
Ah yes, good ol’ Hurricane Hazel! I used to live in the city of Hamilton, three cities over from Mississauga. Everyone in the Greater Toronto Area knows about her. She’s something of a legend, for sure. If I recall, I think last election she ran virtually uncontested. People love her. She represents old-school Canadian politics—real, honest, down to earth, no-nonsense. This works great on a level like local politics in a city, because you can really connect with your people. Unfortunately it’s a lot harder on a regional of federal level, I think, just because you’re spread out more. Nonetheless, it’s not an excuse not to be…
